This page is our best effort to provide links to various resources to support your planning.\u00a0 Road and area closures can be frustrating if you didn’t know about them.

Reported Road Closures<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Many FS roads are closed November – May.\u00a0 Check for updates as part of your trip planning.<\/p>\n\n\n\nAngeles Crest Hwy 2 is closed 3-miles east of Newcomb’s Ranch, before Islip Saddle The route will be closed from Big Pines to SR-39 indefinitely blocking access from LA County to San Bernardino County. <\/span>The hwy sustained major damage and may not be opened for years<\/span>.   Check out this video<\/a>.<\/span>\n\n\n\n

As of 7\/20\/2026<\/b> the road closure for Angels Crest Hwy 2 on Google Maps matches Cal Trans maps.
The closure is just past the Baden Powell Powell (CT-004) parking lot so you should be able to park there and activate.
If you continue on the PCT from Baden Powell, you can easily reach Throop (CT-005) but it makes for some tired legs when you get back to the car.\u00a0 I’ve done Mt Lewis (CT-246) with Throop via a connecting trail but I haven’t done that in a long time.\u00a0 I would assume you can cross the highway there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Enroute to W6\/CT-158 4020, there is a road closure at Bear Divide, off of\u00a0 Little Tujunga Canyon.\u00a0\u00a0The drive to the fire camp and summit is open.\u00a0 Access to this summit from Sand Canyon, is not possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jawbone Canyon<\/a> Rd to Hwy 14. Closed 9\/19\/2025 due to flooding (Piute Mountain area)
Gate to Magic Mountain is closed for the season at Bear Divide, 30-Nov-2025<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Los Padres <\/a>seasonal closures include Grade Valley Road (to San Guillermo and Thorn Point) and Frazier Mountain road at Chuchupate. Cerro Noreste Rd<\/a> also closes from November to May for the season. Check back May 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Forest Service extended the Eaton Fire closure through the end of\u00a0<\/span>2027!.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>
