This summit is on private property. Please respect it. That being said my route does not pass any gates, fences, or signs. Unusually pleasant for this time of year! After dropping down about 1/3 mile from the trailhead the next mile is on the Happy Camp Canyon Rd. Look for a trail that forks left at this point. You will cross the creek (water flowing!), see an old water tank and a sign that reads “Peaches Sweetheart Loop Trail 2013”. Continue up the overgrown section of the trail until it widens into an old roadbed and eventually meets the Edison road about 0.3 mi on. Now follow the “Edison” road that has several spurs to reach each of the transmission towers along the way. My route primarily follows the Edison Road and is mostly on public property. When you reach the last spur road take it left (north). You will not go all the way to the tower but drop off into the drainage and follow it a short distance until it starts to climb a ridge on what I believe is a severely eroded firebreak. Be careful here. It can be a bit slippery on the sandy steep grade with very steep and deep erosion. The further you climb the less eroded. You will eventually reach a small saddle near the summit. Take the well worn use trail to the top. There is a large oak for shade and I was able to find the benchmark along the trail just past the oak. BM is stamped with HAPPY 1959. No HF contacts as I was having some trouble with my radio RX.

20:47 KK6WT 144MHz FM Huston Thousand Oaks CA
20:49 KD6NFD 144MHz FM Craig Thousand Oaks CA
20:50 N7WLC 144MHz FM Mike Thousand Oaks CA
20:53 KO6COJ 144MHz FM Johnny Newbury Park CA
20:58 NT6E 144MHz FM Jon Torrance CA
21:00 AJ6X 144MHz FM Gabriel Mt Baden Powell CA S2S
21:06 K6CPR 144MHz FM Ron Camarillo CA

August 15, 2025.
