{"id":2055,"date":"2025-12-17T05:31:01","date_gmt":"2025-12-17T05:31:01","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/?p=2055"},"modified":"2025-12-17T05:52:41","modified_gmt":"2025-12-17T05:52:41","slug":"w6-ct-119-rouse-hill","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/2025\/12\/17\/w6-ct-119-rouse-hill\/","title":{"rendered":"W6\/CT-119 Rouse Hill"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n<p>As of 12\/2025, this driveup requires a vehicle with lots of clearance, big tires and AWD or above capable rig.&nbsp; Ted (W6TED) and I were only successful because of his tricked out Land Cruiser.<\/p>\n<p>The summit has a nice view into the valley and of Diamond lake.&nbsp; Park, setup, activate.<\/p>\n<p>NOTE:&nbsp; The road conditions have worsened since last year but they could change if the FS road team goes in there to sort it out.<\/p>\n<p>Ted and I first went to W6\/CT-016 Thomas Mtn.&nbsp; The road to Thomas is worse than last year.&nbsp; From Thomas Mtn, we took 6S13 to Rouse Hill Road.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>FS 6S13 from the Thomas Mtn turnoff is pretty rough and recommend good clearance.&nbsp; It&#8217;s probably not for my Highlander.<\/p>\n<p>Rouse Hill Road currently requires good clearance, big tires to get through the very large ruts, and probably AWD or 4X4 if you come up from the Thomas Mtn. side.<\/p>\n<p>When we departed, we kept driving to the NW and the road was much better this direction.&nbsp; It may be possible to get up this side using something less capable than the overlanding rig we were in.&nbsp; We did see a Toyota Rav 4 at one point on the trail.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to do this summit and someone else has done this one since 12\/16\/2025, I recommend reach out to them for a road condition report.<\/p>\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":21,"featured_media":2056,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"pagelayer_contact_templates":[],"_pagelayer_content":"","footnotes":""},"categories":[4],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-2055","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-tripreports"],"acf":[],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2055","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/users\/21"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/comments?post=2055"}],"version-history":[{"count":4,"href":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2055\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":2063,"href":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/posts\/2055\/revisions\/2063"}],"wp:featuredmedia":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media\/2056"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/media?parent=2055"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/categories?post=2055"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/w6sota.org\/web\/wp-json\/wp\/v2\/tags?post=2055"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
