A cold morning with ice on the trail, but had success with the 2m\/Weak signal challenge.  The trail has good footing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">08Apr2025.  We enjoyed the hike &#8211; all except for the rattlesnake encounter. We didn&#8217;t actually see the snake, but as walked past a bush on the downhill descent, a very loud rattle began, letting us know we were too close. I was further down the trail, being very careful on the steep, slippery slope. Suddenly I heard the snake simultaneously with Tom behind me running down the trail to get away.
