There is another trailhead before this point but we started here just to make it a 1 mile hike each way. Other than some overrown grasses and buckwheat the trail is simple. Leave the walking sticks at the car as they just get hung up in the foliage. The summit is just off the right side of the trail. You will see a small use trail going up to the summit with some very minor rock obstacles. It&#8217;s about 20m off the main trail. Nice rocks on the summit to lay your gear on and there was even a small dead tree which worked for holding my Elk log periodic antenna. Because the open space is small, I did not use a wire antenna for HF. Instead I used my Elecraft AX3 vertical antenna and still made contacts to the east coast.
