This was my second summit of the day, after Tioga Crest. About a quarter of the way up, I was wondering what the fuck I was thinking. It's a 3.6 mile round trip hike but with 1,800 feet of gain. Brutle. There is a use tail once you leave Gardisky Lake trail. It's critical that you use that for the main pitch, as it leads you in a nice zig/zag pattern with some areas warn down a enough to make it easier. I was on tired legs but strangely just dug in and did it. It took me 2 hours to get up, one to get down.
Expect false summits (I have a funny story on that one) and lots of loose scree for a half mile as you zig-zag to the summit of this massive rock pile. Setup, get your ten points and head for the beer cooler. This is a hard climb.
