This was an absolutely beautiful hike and passes by the epic Indian Rock, a natural granite arch in Yosemite National park. It is believed to be the only granite arch in the world. It's not far from the NE entrance and the trail was in excellent condition.
This hike what made me fall in love with hiking this area. It doesn't have the views of Cloud's Rest, but they are mighty. It's an easy 3.5 miles to the summit, with a gentle climb to the summit, with the last half mile, a bit tougher. I easily had 20 minute splits for the first 2 miles in each direction. The trail is clear for 90% of the hike, allowing you to look around as you hike through some beautiful forest. The round trip stats according to my watch is 6.8 miles and 1,400 feet of gain.
Get into the activation zone by going to the north side of the rock. You see a simple hike up to a good operating position.
Don't leave Yosemite without doing this hike.
