Wednesday, July 23, 2025.  This summit is accessible by a graded gravel road.  As others have reported, there is obsidian on the road, but it is crushed where tires go, so we found it to be a nice drive.  Historically the dome was an important source of pure obsidian to make spear and arrow points.  At the top there is a 360 deg view of the Eastern Sierras and the valley below.
