This is an easy 4 mile hike (8 mile RT) in Mount Diablo State Park (and associated Muir Land Trust segments). The road is mostly easy rolling ridgeline with a steep uphill right at the end. The ridgeline is mostly exposed and I understand it can get quite windy. I didn't have that problem, but for a Fall day it got pretty hot. Sun protection and/or a wind-breaker are probably a good idea.
I followed AA6XA's helpful guide linked on the SOTA page (https://sotl.as/summits/W6/NC-499). There is plenty of parking at Curry Point, and the route is along Knobcone Point Road all the way to the summit.
The fire road to Windy Point enters the Muir Land Trust for a bit, but goes back into the Park at the end, so Windy Point is good for a POTA activation also.
Made my first contact with Sweden! Excellent signal both ways, which was amazing considering I was running QRP with a homemade 20m dipole about 15 feet off the ground at it's highest point. Highlight of the trip.
