Thursday, July 17, 2025. This was our second summit of the day, having just completed Sherman Peak. Following the 2 mi drive on Bald Mountain Lookout Road, we parked at the Gate to the Lookout tower. From here you can hike 1 mi up the dirt road or take a trail. Neither the drive nor the hike were particularly scenic, although being at a Lookout Tower is always special. 146.52 MHz was tied up for 90 min, but made 2m/FM contacts when the YouTuber took a 5 min break. Otherwise, contacts were on 40m/ CW.
