The area where Bald Mountain is located is actually called the Bald Mountain Trail System and is managed by the BLM. The track I have posted is probably the shortest route to the summit following the trails.

The trails do tend to wind around and about. The long distance makes for a very gentle climb. The climb is 1000 feet in four miles. On the way down I made more of a bee line for the trailhead and probably cut off at least a mile. Trails are well maintained.

The summit has a bench! Very comfortable area to work and plenty of space to set up a long wire. I did this in the winter on a nice day. Beware it can get very hot here in the summer. There is no shade. www.blm.gov
