I did this summit on the way back to camp from Pinoli Ridge (See Pinoili Trip Report).  If you are planning to drive up Findlay Peak Rd, it's closed off at both sides of the mountain. Good news is, it's an easy hike.

From Pinoli ridge road, you'll turn onto Austin Meadows.   You'll need at good 2wd with medium clearance, possible AWD. 

The turn to the left at Findley Peak road will be obvious.  That intersection is a perfect place to park and start your easy hike almost to the summit.  The road trip hike is approximately 3 miles with a very short Forrest hike to the top using a very old closed road or just bushwhack it.
